WHEDA (Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority)
WHEDA offers loans to First time home buyers in Wisconsin. There are several advantages to a WHEDA loan like low down payment and closing costs. Anyone applying for a WHEDA loan must qualify based on income, home value and must be a first time home buyer, a Veteran or did not own a home as your primary residence in the last 3 years.
HOME LOAN
The Home loan program offers a 3% down option. The 3% can come from a loan through WHEDA for down payment and improvement loan.
If you can answer "yes" to the following three questions, you most likely qualify:
- Are you a first-time homebuyer, or has it been more than three years since you owned a home?
- Do you have good credit and a steady income?
- Is your income less than the WHEDA limit for the county where you'll buy a home?
